The role of phenotypic plasticity on evolutionary diversification

Problem

This project is the second chapter of my doctoral thesis. In it, I asked how does adding phenotypic plasticity – that is, the ability to change your phenotype according to the environment – to the model of chapter 1 alter the potential for that consumer species to diversify.

(I intend to write here a popular science summary of the research methods and findings)

The analysis was done using the Wolfram language in the Mathematica notebook environment and the individual based simulations were written and performed in MATLAB.

This article is currently being edited to be submitted. As soon as there is a URL for the article I will share it here.

The Github repository for this project is

github.com/pnvasc/roleOfPhenotypicPlasticityOnEvolutionaryDiversification
It is currently incomplete and I’m in the process of updating it.

My Role

  • Design model
  • Perform analysis
  • Perform simulations
  • Data visualization
  • Write manuscript
